I Am Giant started 2012 with the awesome news that the video for their first single ‘Neon Sunrise’ made it to NUMBER FOUR in the Rage Top 50 videos of 2011!

Then a few days later they found out that their debut album, ‘The Horrifying Truth’ ,was No 5 in the Fist2Face Top 10 Rock albums of 2011.
To top it all off influential US website RCRD LBL also featured the single ‘Neon Sunrise’ (just quietly the video features world champion surfing legend Kelly Slater).
I Am Giant have spent most of 2011 touring through Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the UK supporting the release of their critically acclaimed debut album produced by Forrester Savell and released via Sony Records.

I Am Giant have returned to NZ for their biggest national tour ever!   2011 was a massive year for I Am Giant – their debut album ‘The Horrifying Truth’ debuted No 2 in the charts and is nearly GOLD! It was the highest selling NZ rock album of 2011 and produced five massive number 1 Rock hits – ‘City Limits’, ‘Neon Sunrise’, ‘Living The Crash’, ‘And We’ll Defy’ and ‘Let It Go’.

The I Am Giant ‘Let It Go Summer Tour’ sees the band touring the depth and breadth of New Zealand from Russell all the way to Invercargill.

Joining them on most of the dates are the electrifying powerhouse that is Cairo Knife Fight. CNF who released their second EP “II” via Liberation Music in August 2011, is comprised of drummer / lead vocalist Nick Gaffaney and Aaron Tokona on guitar. Together, this potent pair issues forth pulsating guitar riffs illuminated with haunting vocals and phantasmal effects which have taken the stage alongside Foo Fighters, Them Crooked Vultures and Queens of The Stone Age.

London-based Kiwi alternative rockers I Am Giant will be the lead act at Hawera’s inaugural Alt Fest.

Gates open at 1:30pm and the event starts at 2pm at the Hawera Show Grounds (Williams Avenue entrance) with New Plymouth DJ Cleo G, followed by local band 3rd Avenue, before the feature act, I Am Giant.

This is an R16 event and ID will be needed. BYO alcohol is permitted (cans and unopened wine bottles only), however the amount and its use will be strictly controlled. Food will be available for purchase.

London based Alt Rockers I Am Giant, fresh off the back of a South Pacific tour are back and playing a show at the Camden Barfly on Fri 25 November with fellow London based bands My Preserver and Sumer, playing new tracks from the soon to be released debut album ‘The Horrifying Truth’.

The ‘Horrifying Truth’ was recorded with acclaimed Australian Alt Rock Producer/Engineer Forrester Savell (Karnivool, Helmet, Dead Letter Circus) between Sony Studios in Sydney, and Forrester’s studio at Sing-Sing Studios in Melbourne between January and April 2011, and was co-produced by bassist Paul Matthews and drummer Shelton Woolright.

I Am Giant have announced a one off show in Munich, Germany.

The band will be playing the club night ‘Hoerprobe’ at the established  Ampere, Muffatwerk on the 10th of November.

Playing songs off their debut album ‘The Horrifying Truth’, this explosive show should be the first of many European dates to come.

Drummer Shelton Woolright says “As a band we are very excited to get out to Germany. We hear they love their Alt Rock, so we are looking forward to sharing our songs and more importantly our live  show, which we have been perfecting over the last few months with relentless touring.

I Am Giant share the stage with “Mister Me” from Germany and “Majority Says” from Sweden.

I Am Giant have announced a new date for their recently postponed Queenstown gig as well as a date in Christchurch (Thursday October 6^th and Friday October 7^th for Q’town)

Due to their lead singer Ed Martin contracting a throat infection, I Am Giant have postponed their Tauranga gig to Friday September 30^th.

The band will return to Auckland to do TWO FREE gigs as part of the Real NZ Festival.
